Tool Shed Plans – Building Your Own Tool Shed From Plan
With a good set of tool shed plans building your own is fairly a straightforward DIY project. They are available for download from the internet and you can come across whole sets of plans with various sizes and styles of shed, some will also include a host of additional projects such as garden furniture for you to tackle.
You will be able to work out your costs from your tool shed plans, all timber sizes along with fixtures and fittings should be listed, you will also need to allow for paint and brushes, there is also your foundation to take into consideration.
For a smaller shed some building blocks or treated timbers will work well as a foundation or for something more substantial you can lay a concrete slab it all depends on how much you want to spend. Whatever you decide on your foundation should be firm and level; this will add years to the life of your shed and ensure that doors and windows open and close smoothly. There should be a small gap between the bottom of your shed to encourage air circulation and prevent rot, if you live in a really windy area you may need to fasten the shed onto the base.
If you decide to go ahead with your shed then you can order your timber, fixtures and fittings from your supplier, some timber yards will cut some or all of your wood to size as stipulated on your shed plans giving you the equivalent of a ready to assemble shed.
Once your timber and fittings arrive on site you can begin to build your new she following the step by step instruction on your tool shed plans.

With regards to a new tool shed - What is a pad of compacted crushed stone?
I am having a pre-fab wood tool shed delivered. I am told to have a 12’x16’ pad compacted crushed stone 8-12" deep ready for it. Is this something I can dig and fill myself...? What exactly goes into its assembly...?
That's a pretty big shed...I would consider putting a concrete pad down, that way you can bolt it to the concrete pad. Rather than just setting it on top of crushed stone.....
I think that way cause I'm in earthquake country.....So if you live in earthquake or tornado country, something to think about.....
how could i make a shed/ treehouse in the woods that lets light in?
ok i am trying to grow weed and i need to make something to hide my Plants in but also let them get light and grow at the same time and needs to be in the woods and needs a lock so my bro and his friends that play back there cant get in or any animals can get in. also i need it to be as simple and easy as possible. my dad has a bunch of extra wood he doesnt use and screws and stuff and power tools so i dont think i need to really go out and buy anything.
just build a deck. then the light will go through the tree house.
