Is there something like an invisible Fence that I can use?
My puppy can get under my wooden fence and I dont want to confine him to a smaller kennel in the yard! I thought about using a small voltage hot wire made to keep racoons and other small animals out! I would put it along the bottom of the fence so he wouldnt go out, But I would much rather use something made for what I want!! so I rent the house so I dont want to burry a fence so my ? is can I not burry an invisible fence and just run it along the bottom of my existing fence? has anyone done this?
Hehehe, this almost seems too perfect.
There IS a product, oddly enough, called "Invisible Fence". It uses an electrical signal from a set perimeter, all you do is put some stakes or bury a guard wire around your premises, then attach the collar to the dog. It acts like an invisible forcefield. If your dog gets too close or crosses the perimeter, it will beep telling him to turn back. If he doesn't, then the collar administers a light electrical shock. Your dog learns to stay put pretty darn quickly after that.
You seem to already know about the product, I think I've seen it come in versions that have stakes you put into the ground at the four corners of your house, rather than run a ground wire all along it. That might be best, I think if you just placed the wire on the ground it will be exposed to the elements and bad things could happen.
Just ask your landlord, I'm sure he/she won't have an issue with burying a ground wire so long as you dig it back up if you ever decide to move out.
