Help ~Insulated dog house?
Which is better for outside use, wood insulated dog house or plastic insulated dog house? I need one that is going to last and is well insulated for all year round.
What is a good brand?

Wood. Plastic doghouses tend to develop condensation inside and they also get water in the when it rains,as they are so close to the ground. A good,solid wooden doghouse with an off-centered door and plenty of straw is your best bet. The door should face south and the house should be elevated about 4 inches from the ground.
Are Softpaws bad for my dog?
I just bought a new house with hardwood floors & asked before how to protect them from my dog's nails. Someone suggested these things called softpaws (www.softpaws.net), which are these plastic caps that go over the dog's nails & secured with special nail glue. So, I told the groomer about the things & she was like don't put those on him, they are a pain to get off, they don't come off when you clip his nails (despite the website's claim that they do), they get messed up when they go outside, etc.
So..my question is has anyone out there tried them on their dog's nails? Are they THAT bad? Will they hurt my dog? Please help!
My Sister uses them on her cat. They don't seem to mind them too much. But they do fall off, quite often. They are a hassle, because you always have to re-apply them. But as far as I know, they don't hurt them. But maybe it would be different with a dog because they go outside. Maybe if dirt and debris gets in there, it could cause pain. They use them for the cats, because they claw the curtains. Good Luck.
