Benefits of Relocatable Cabins
Relocatable cabins are more than just a place for an aging family member, or even extremely noisy teenagers, they can also be a spacious, modern family home. With one, two and three bedroom floor plans and many different options for customizing your home, you will love the ability to choose exactly what you want in a new home or relocatable cabin for your property.
Affordability
The number one reason that relocatable cabins have become so popular is not only their options, but the pricing, as well. You can add a small annex to your home for a relatively low fee, and then after the family has finished with it, the cabin can be rented out. If you live in a bustling city, then you know that renting can have its benefits. Whether you are purchasing the cabin for a teenager looking for more freedom or an aging mother, you can make good use of the cabin for many years to come.
Quality Materials
Relocatable cabins are made of high quality materials, such as steel frames and rust resistant exterior, which makes your investment one that lasts a lifetime. You can choose a cabin that is level two cycle resistant if you live in an area prone to cyclones, and termite resistant materials are always used. If you live in a multi-generational family home, then adding an annex can be easy by custom choosing your interior and exterior materials to match the existing home.
Spreading Out
Along with being affordable, a relocatable cabin can give you more space for branching out. If you are in need of a home office, then an affordable cabin may be just what you are looking for. You can add in floor to ceiling windows on the sunniest side of the cabin, and have a nicely sized artists studio for the family to use, or you can add the windows for an indoor sunroom.
There will be many choices that can fit the needs of any member of the family, including safety measures such as hard wired fire alarms and security alarms. If you are moving in an elderly member of the family, these safety features can provide peace of mind for the whole family, and can even be wired directly into the main home if you are joining the structures.
Choices, Choices, Choices
Along with being able to choose the size and exterior of your relocatable cabins, you will also be able to choose which features you want in the home. You will be able to have the option of choosing a one or two story cabin, with up to three bedrooms. A larger cabin would be perfect for families who are moving into their parents home to save money or to care for an aging parent. A smaller one bedroom cabin may be a better choice for an aging parent who is moving in with children, and since the relocatable cabins are self inclusive, you won’t have to worry about privacy.

Cabins Direct Questions
Have you been on a plane with your cat in cabin?? Need your help!?
I'm currently an American expat in Singapore and while living in Singapore, I adopted a kitten that I just love to death. I will be returning back to NY in July and will be bringing her back home with me. I found that Thai Airways allows pets in the cabin which is my preferred choice for the almost day long journey, we fly Singapore to Bangkok Thailand for 2 1/2 hours, wait 2 1/2 hours for the next flight then fly direct for a bit over 16 hours. I have already checked all the regulations with bringing her into the states and she is old enough to fly and I have all the necessary paperwork, does anyone have experience with in cabin flying with a cat? Do they allow you to feed the cat, the carrier size allowed isn't very large so how do I deal with litter, she's very particular and will only use the litter box, I did get special wee wee liners for the carrier, where exactly in the cabin was the cat kept. All information you have would be very greatly appreciated.
I flew with my cat from Washington DC to Seattle a few years back and with the exception of the take off and landing she did very well.
The flight staff was great and were fine with my feeding her from my lap on two separate occasions. They make travel litter boxes now that are very portable. You can find those on the PetCo website. I simply took her (while in the carrier) into the bathroom, but the box down and she knew what to do. She did want to explore the restroom after that though!
Talk to your vet about this trip and find out if a sedative for your kitty might be a good idea. This makes some people nervous -- potential overdose and other concerns -- so make sure you have a high comfort level with this and are confident in what your vet suggests.
I also brought catnip along. She really gets into this and it makes her not so much bonkers, but rather "stoned." So this was a help.
Hope this helps. Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions. Good luck with your trip home! --Andy
p.s. Traveling with your cat is a great way to meet flight attendants.
Dog flying in cabin? How?
I only want answers from experienced or knowledgeable people in this subject. I want to fly my Chiuahuah with me when i visit Germany this Summer. i would leave him but the last time I did, he wouldn't eat and sit at the window the whole time. i love my doggie too much to put him through that.I will be gone for three months total. Direct answers would be best appreciated. Thank you!
Are there only certain airlines that allow dogs in cabin? Who? How big does the carrier have to be? He has a long neck so he can't strech his neck completely up but it looks comfy to me.
What all documentation must I have? Should I buy a muzzle? (He will bite strangers) What are the limits regarding how big the carrier can be? What about connecting flights? Also I will be flying in a small plane at some point both ways so will they allow his carrier in there too? The plane will have two or three lanes at the most. The large plane will of course be huge.
First:
See this document about dog/cat import forms for Germany:
http://www.aphis.usda.gov/regulations/vs/iregs/animals/downloads/ge_cn_hc_fill.doc
and/or
http://www.aphis.usda.gov/regulations/vs/iregs/animals/downloads/ee_cn_fe-cert.pdf
These may both ask for the same info - not sure because I did not read through all of them.
Talk to your vet about travel - many vets are quite experienced in travel preparation.
Some information:
Pet dogs, cats, and ferrets must be identified with either a clearly readable tattoo or a microchip. The microchip must comply with ISO standard 11784 or 11785 Annex A, or the appropriate microchip reader must be provided along with the pet. Annex A type microchips available in the United States include AKC/TROVAN, HOMEAGAIN and AVID EUROCHIP.
Second:
Find out which airlines fly between the cities you need to travel between
Call several of them and ask:
- What are their rules about small dog travel: cabin or cargo hold
- Where do you bring your pet when you get to the airport - it may be that you do not drop him off at the check in counter, could be in an air cargo location
- What are the carrier/kennel regulations: type, size etc.
- What are the rules for food, water and waste
- What does it cost
- Do they have rules that say they will not transport animals in extreme weather (too hot, too cold)
- What happens on connections - what happens if a connection is missed
- What happens on long delays
- What medical/vet forms do they require (may be in addition or different from the destination country's needs)
If your travel will involve connecting on multiple different airline (one domestically within the US, a different one across to Europe, then a third within Europe), then you probably need to call each of the airlines involved and ask them all of the same questions.
Third:
Google "international pet import" and check out various pet transport services. They can assist in the entire process - sometimes doing all of the arrangements. They may be costly, however.
For example: http://www.petrelocation.com/pet-relocation-resources
Fourth:
Be prepared to pay quite a lot of money - in addition to the ticket cost.
Fifth:
Does the place where you are staying in Germany welcome pets - especially those that may bite strangers? Do you have, or can you get, some kind of liability insurance in case he does bite someone?
Sixth:
Think really hard about whether this is a good idea for your pet. 3 months is a long time, but travel - especially long international travel - is hard on pets. You will have to go through some of the same issues on the way back.
Good luck.
